GOING DOWN AND MOVING ON combines narrative, emails, and photographs, to give an Augusten Burroughs meets David LaChapelle-esque account of how one native New Yorker's world comes undone and regenerates during the time period surrounding 9/11.

9/11 Pieta

I, like millions of people, watched in horror at the events of Sept. 11, 2001 as they occurred on my television. The agony of all those people seared my soul. As I meditated and prayed, this poem formed in my mind.

In the weeks after 9/11, I walked the streets surrounding Ground Zero. There were many makeshift memorials created on many street corners. These two memorials caught my attention.

After seeing the attacks of 9/11 on TV in 2001, Celestine feared for the future, and felt that the world was coming to an end. Since then, his dream was to come up with a project to show how these attacks happened, using his skill as a craftsman.
