Popular Greenwich Village 9/11 memorial tiles are once again available to the public, presented in a new display at the Jefferson Market Library.
In the days following September 11, 2001 residents of the Village painted and hung commemorative tiles (some sent in from around the world) on a fence located at Seventh Avenue South and Greenwich Avenue. The tiles were removed this past September before a construction project was to begin, according to DNAinfo.
DNAinfo detailed the opening of the display on January 8 and featured a series of photographs.
