The Nyack Boys Varsity Lacrosse team huddle up in front of Welles Crowther's name on the memorial.

When the Nyack Boys Varsity Lacrosse team visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to learn more about Welles Crowther, a Nyack alum and lacrosse player who became known as the “Man in the Red Bandana" for his bravery on 9/11, they concluded their visit with a team cheer.

The heroism of Welles Crowther remains an inspiration to the team who wear his No. 19 on their back and incorporated the bandana design on their jerseys. After a tour of the Museum and quiet reflection at the Memorial, the Nyack students shared this moment of unity with Welles's mother, Alison Crowther, before heading home.
