The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is hosting a new speakers series that features StoryCorps founder Dave Isay and Pulizter-prize winning New York Times reporter David Rohde. These presenters and other speakers have been assembled to have an open discussion about the ongoing issues related to 9/11 that continue to affect us today. The speakers series is aptly named "9/11, Today and Tomorrow." The programming will be as engaging as it is informative. There's no fee but there's a suggested $10 donation to help with future programming.
The first of four planned events begins at 6:30 p.m. March 31st with StoryCorps' Dave Isay, who will play intimate 9/11-related recordings for the audience. In his own words, Isay said recording 9/11 stories is an opportunity to provide families and friends of attack victims "a sacred space to remember their loved ones and that survivors and rescue workers should have a safe place to talk about what they witnessed that day. We hope that each StoryCorps interview will continue the process of healing the wounds our country suffered from the 9/11 attack and serve as a beacon of hope for friends and families.”
