Sgt. Tells Story of 1993 WTC Rooftop Helicopter Rescue

On Feb. 26, 1993, a group of terrorists detonated a bomb inside a van in the parking garage below the World Trade Center. Moments later, calls poured into emergency dispatchers and hundreds of first responders arrived to aid in the rescue effort. NYPD Sgt. Timothy Farrell, who worked in the Emergency Service Unit (ESU), was among them.

Artifact Cards Debut as Part of 9/11 Memorial Education Program

Beginning this Saturday, artifact cards will be distributed during the Activity Station program in the 9/11 Memorial Museum's Education Center. Intended for ages five through 12, the cards are part of a pilot program and were designed to be used by both children and their caregivers while visiting select artifacts in the Museum's exhibition spaces.

In Memory of Michael James Ahern, Tribute in Light Producer

On Sunday, January 24, as New York City awoke from beneath its snow blanket, I joined several hundred others at the memorial service for Michael James Ahern, who died in November 2015. I worked with Ahern when he annually produced Tribute in Light, the last few years in partnership with the 9/11 Memorial.
