This 9/11 Anniversary, Remember, Reflect and Serve
The National September 11 Memorial & Museum will soon lead the nation, and the world, as we mark the passage of yet another year since the day that changed us forever. As we commemorate here at the Memorial, we would like to invite you to join us in honoring the victims and commemorating the anniversary in your own communities.
By marking the anniversary in your community, you are playing an important role in memorializing those who were killed, honoring the sacrifices of the first responders, and recapturing the spirit of service and community that emerged in the aftermath of 9/11.
To help you plan your anniversary observance, this site features helpful resources and ideas for commemorating 9/11 in communities, or schools and through social media or as an individual.
In addition to these resources, now through September 7, 2016, we invite 9/11 memorial sites around the globe listed in our Memorials Registry, educational institutions and government entities to submit an application to license select 9/11 Memorial content, which includes a selection of photos of the Memorial plaza and several oral history clips of eyewitnesses for use in 9/11 anniversary commemorations. Learn more and begin this process by completing a simple online application here.
Despite the passing years since September 11, 2001, it remains as important as ever that we continue to come together to remember and honor the victims and our shared history.
Thank you for joining us and taking a day to remember, reflect and come together.
