At the age of 94, U.S. Army veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor John Seelie fulfilled a long-time wish on Thursday: he visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to pay his respects.
Seelie, the last survivor of the 25th Infantry Division that was assigned to the Schofield Barracks in Honululu on Dec. 7 1941, was greeted by an honor guard that included members of the Port Authority Police Department, the New York City Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard and first responders.
Seelie said it was "amazing" to see the 9/11 Memorial with his own eyes and that it was "such an honor to be recognized this way."
