New World Order
The global significance of the disaster in New York is a continually unfolding story. A catch phrase from the first Gulf War, surely one of the causes of 9/11, comes back to haunt us. Reaction to these events flings the world apart, making small places take on huge importance, forcing distant lands into close conflict, and making borders around the world crumble. For this piece, pages from the atlas were scanned into the computer then enhanced to shrink or enlarge them. Cities become the size of countries, states are flung out of order, and national borders lose their meaning.
