Description

On 11 September 2001, the smoke emerging both from the explosion and the collapsing of the Twin Towers remains an image engraved in people’s mind all across the globe when the attacks are mentionned. It has an important meaning, especially for the families of victims as it was often described as the only remaining thing of the people who died on that day. In my piece of work, I wanted to express the fact that this smoke became a sacred symbol. The top of the World Trade Center is barely apparent while the smoke wraps everything with the shape of a skull, a sign of the incoming deaths on that day.
