What motivated me and how did "This Day Is Forever - The 9/11 Memorial Song" come about?

Nicola Di Caprio (born in Caserta Italy, lives in Milan and Paris, France) graduated from the Art Institute of San Leucio - Caserta Italy.

I wrote this poem on 911 as an instinctive reaction to the travesty we witnessed at the time, I stumbled across it again, in my notebook in 2024 .

In my idea of beauty there is no glamour aspect. My work relates immediately to how I feel about life. My whole life has been in the pursuit of the truth.

Artist's Statement:

Windows on the world is about a change in perspective. I want the viewer to see the new towers from underground, a perspective that wasn’t possible before the towers fell.

REQUIEM FOR A CITY

Papa Dish: composing and performing progressive folk and blues. Papa Dish Music produces and distributes limited edition home-made CD's and graphics.

The 3D creation depicts the FDNY Ladder company 10 with the Freedom Tower on the horizon. This tribute display was created in remembrance of the 343 lives lost of the brave first responders during the tragic 9/11 attacks.

My work involves material conflict- paints colliding,moving flowing to merging color.

Coming to grips with the events of that day, and going through a wide range of emotions. I wanted to make a statement through my art, something that would speak to the masses.
