Since I was a teenager, I’ve worked in museums doing everything from caring for  animals to working as an educator. Through the years I have developed a passion for museums and the roles they serve in each community.

The Lens: Capturing Life and Events at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum is a photography series devoted to documenting moments big and small that unfold at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.

This week, 99 international flags were installed in the 9/11 Memorial Museum pavilion to commemorate the victims of 9/11. Visible from the 9/11 Memorial plaza, these flags help to signify the victims’ countries and epitomize the global impact of 9/11.

This summer I have been given more practical knowledge and firsthand experience of security and law enforcement matters than any college-level course could provide.

A group of Paterson, NJ school children experienced the 9/11 Memorial Museum on an impactful youth tour on Tuesday, August 18.

Recently, legislation was introduced by Republican Congressman Tom MacArthur with the aim of enabling the federal government to help fund the 9/11 Memorial plaza.

Flying was a second career for Alfred Gilles Padre Joseph Marchand. Before becoming a United Airlines flight attendant, he served 21 years as a police officer for the New Mexico Department of Public Safety, working his way up the ranks and retiring as a lieutenant. The 9/11 Memorial Museum curators installed the lieutenant’s cap and service pins he wore in the museum’s memorial exhibition.

Sure, waking up each weekday morning to catch the 7:29 a.m. train to Hoboken, NJ to then transfer to the PATH train bound for the World Trade Center isn’t a thrilling adventure.
