During and after the attacks of 9/11 on our country and it's people, I felt a great responsibility as an American Artist to document the events of 9/11.
In 2001 I was awarded a residency through LMCC at the World Trade Center to paint the vista from the 92nd floor. On the morning of 9/11 I stopped off to vote on my way to my studio in the North Tower. My life was spared but not my work.
New York was a place that I would visit during family vacations to see relatives. My mom grew up in Washington Heights. There is special meaning to me from this City. The attacks of 9/11 caused a lot of grief, but did bring the country together.
