This my original poem. I created this special tribute to the memory of September 11, 2001; so that we as a nation continue to honor and respect how this date changed the history of mankind.
I am a transplant from the Mid-Atlantic area to the Mid-South, and before that, I was initially an immigrant from Daegu, South Korea to Hyattsville, MD, in the United States.
Like many Americans, 9/11 will be etched in my mind and in my heart forever. I was working for Morgan Stanley at the time and saw the news that the first plane hit the World Trade Center Tower on the scrolling Dow Jones news wire.
This painting was created for the one year anniversary of the events of 9-11.
It depicts the devastating effects suffered around the world, since the whole world was indeed affected.
In the days following the 9/11 tragedy in New York, the "A Community of Angels" public art project in Los Angeles, CA wanted to send an angel statue to the city of New York as a gift of love and support.
This axe was made for me by two local firefighters. It`s wood and comes with a full size handle. I use acrylic paints and then apply coats of sealer. The axe head in 12 inches tall and with the handle it`s 36 inches long.
